A 48-year-old Brookfield man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a girl in a Wauwatosa apartment building.
Wauwatosa police were releasing few details as of NOW's deadline. The district attorney was expected to issue charges Wednesday.
However, Lt. Dominic Leone did say the 14-year-old victim, who resides in Menomonee Falls, was assaulted in the basement of an apartment building in the 11100 block of West Meinecke Avenue on Saturday.
"We got a call from the girl who had been the victim at 6:30 p.m.," he said. "She managed to get away from her assailant and run to a nearby building where she was able to get help."
After getting information about a possible suspect from the Menomonee Falls Police Department, Wauwatosa officers "stopped him just a few blocks away from the scene."
